The California Mathematics Standards designate five strands for math. They are: Number Sense, Algebra and Functions, Measurement and Geometry, Statistics, Data Analysis, and Probability, and Mathematical Reasoning.

A set of math homework guidelines that fits well with South Lake expectations. Examples of acceptable and unacceptable work are included.

Although the math study skills survey is designed for college students, many of the suggestions are very appropriate for middle school.

"Unit Conversions and Calculations" http://www.megaconverter.com/  
     No matter how obscure the unit of measurement, either the Megaconverter Original or the Megaconverter2 engine will translate it into numbers you'll understand.

This site has math drills divided into specific skill categories. You select the type of practice you need, input your answers and receive a score upon completion.

A wide variety of explanations and examples in pre-algebra and algebra topics.
 

"Ms. Linddquist: The Free Algebra Tutor for Word Problems" http://www.algebratutor.org/  
This online algebra tutor can give you practice and suggestions on how to turn word problems into algebraic expressions and equations.
